Guy in Vietnam wants to buy my RFS motor for sale
I got an RFS motor for sale at Klipboard Talk and this guy who says he has a bike tour business in Vietnam wants to buy it
he says he just has to work out getting it through customs duties and fees
Seems pretty legit, not getting scam vibes on this one
just talked to him on the phone from vietnam
said I can ship to his exporter in so.cal and pay via pay pal
what do you think ?

probaby got rocks in my head, should keep it as a spare and keep my old 525 also
these motors are better than the new ones and keep getting more scarce year by year, I heard some parts are already unavailable
just last year i sold some ktm 660 rallye tanks to a guy in singapore through pay pal for$800 and shipped them from the post office and all went well

I sold my VW Bus to a guy in the Netherlands...somewhat nerve racking process, but we used a broker then transferred money between our banks...that way there is no way to contest it...like with Paypal or a Credit Card.
Anything overseas, I get the bank involved....hell, even the states I would do that....Craigslist, I do exchanges at the police department now.

It seems legit. I buy and sell quite a few bikes from other countries. Paypal is very secure just have them pay you via friends and family that way Paypal does not charge you a fee, just transfer the money to your bank right away and before you send the engine off. The buyer is also making it easier for you by having an exporter that you send the engine to.
It can be nerve racking but in my experience no more than buying or selling from someone here. I have purchased bikes in the 50-70k range from overseas via bank wire, talk about feeling uneasy.

The vibes are good on this one , I have been talking on the phone and he seems to understand the risk involved in buying a used rfs motor like this and willing to take the risk. He seems to know ktms pretty well and the value of the rfs
I also read the pay pal contract agreement, i called pay pal and they verified he was a long time member in good standing and helped clarify the claims process and because it is a vehicle motor then it is void of buyer protection as long as i describe it properly and save a screen shot of the descrptions in the ad and my disclaimer of "as is for parts no warranty implied and no refunds or returns" sent in my invoice and i am covered by seller protection as long as I confirm delivery to the US broker destination
